As of January 1, 2004 new privacy legislation came into effect.

We want to assure you that measures to protect your privacy have always been in place at 16th Avenue Gospel Chapel. However, the requirements to ensure this protection are now more formal. In general, personal information is any information that can be used to distinguish, contact or identify a certain individual. The information may include an individual’s opinions or beliefs, as well as facts about, or related to, that individual. Exceptions usually not considered personal information are business contact information and certain publicly available information, such as names, addresses and telephone numbers published in telephone directories.

Personal information gathered by 16th Avenue Gospel Chapel is kept in confidence. The Elders and staff of 16th Avenue Gospel Chapel are authorized to access personal information based only on their need to deal with it for the purpose it was obtained. Safeguards are in place to ensure that personal information is not disclosed or shared more widely than is necessary to achieve the purpose for which it was collected. The information is kept only as long as it is needed.

Personal information is collected, used and disclosed only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in light of the circumstances. The personal information is not sold or rented to other organizations.

Information that we collect from you is to accurately inform you about activities, ministries, programs and other concerns relevant to 16th Avenue Gospel Chapel. We therefore have retained the personal information you have provided, unless you instruct us otherwise.
